Kia ora folks, I've had a few queries lately asking whether I am planning to conduct my usual October 5-day residential psychodrama workshop this year. The answer is no, but a 4-day group in November instead, as outlined below. I'm expecting my first GREATgrand child in October so will be in Australia at that time. With warm wishes to you all, and hope to see some of you in November, Katerina FOUR DAY PSYCHODRAMA WORKSHOP, NOVEMBER 25th-29th 2011 Creating Community Caring for Papatuanuku and Ranginui Workshop facilitator : Katerina Seligman Co-facilitator: Carol Parkinson-Jones In this workshop we will use the methods of psychodrama, sociodrama and meditation to explore ways to live joyfully and effectively while working to create a secure future for ourselves, future generations, and the natural world. There will be the opportunity to deal with hurts and fears, past and present, which stand in our way to acting effectively with joyful spontaneity and creativity. We will discover the forces at play which block and enhance a sense of true community. The venue, Mountain Valley Centre, in the Graham Valley near Motueka has a natural beauty which nurtures the spirit, and participants will have time to fill up on the wairua (spirit) of the native bush and pristine mountain river. Indoor accommodation will be marae style. You are welcome to bring a campervan or tent. T-pees will also be made available for those preferring to sleep outdoors. There are farm-stay batches and very good Bed and Breakfast facilities nearby for those wanting more luxurious accommodation. About the psychodrama method : Jacob Moreno, the founder of psychodrama believed that a truly therapeutic procedure must address not only the individual, but all of our relationships and the whole of society. His ambitious goal was that every therapeutic session should make a significant step towards world peace. Spontaneity is a foundation concept of the psychodrama method. It involves the ability to respond to people and situations with immediacy, vitality and thoughtfulness. It involves letting go of the old and moving into new ways of being. Spontaneity flourishes in an atmosphere of experimentation and playfulness, and enables us to bring forward our creative abilities, and to move into the unknown with courage and confidence.
